Customer Inquiry

More and more often, the conversion from metal to plastic occurs in the plastic processing industry. Nowadays, there are plastic materials available that differ little from metal materials in terms of material properties. While metal remains stronger and stiffer, the use of plastic offers many advantages, such as lower costs, greater design flexibility, reduced weight, availability in RAL colors, and a wide selection of plastic raw materials.

Our client Lantech has also chosen to transition from metal to plastic. Can Fleur Plastics provide us with advice during the reengineering process and work together to continuously explore opportunities to reduce costs?

The Challenges for Fleur Plastics

Our Solution

One of the products was the injection molding of a threaded bushing. During the development, the advantages were assessed, and the product was printed using Rapid Prototyping to test its functionality. The decision was made to inject mold the product in Polyacetal (POM) because it is equipped with an internal thread. The material is strong, has a self-lubricating property, and is extremely suitable for moving parts. We also handle the post-processing.
