Performance enhancer in a plastic housing
Revolution in Darts: QB One
While darters often focus on the positioning of their feet, shoulders, and elbows, the grip and height at which darts are held are frequently overlooked. Our client, QB Darts, has developed the perfect solution for this.
After extensive development, they introduced the QB One—a performance enhancer disguised in a black and orange plastic housing.
The Challenge
The entire development of the QB One took two years. Once the initial designs were completed, Fleur Plastics was brought in to handle the production of the molds and ultimately, the manufacturing of the QB One.
The biggest challenge in this project arose from the fact that the product was subject to changes from the market, as well as ongoing feedback from prototype testing. As a result, we had to make multiple adjustments to the molds throughout the process.
For example, changes in dart design meant that the fit of the darts in the QB One became too tight, or testers noted that the QB One's touch surface wasn’t always compatible with every hand type. Through inventive modifications, we successfully found solutions to these issues.

The Solution
The QB One consists of four plastic components, which are processed in two molds. In some cases, it is possible to produce two different products simultaneously from a single mold. This allows the customer to save on mold costs and reduces the product price.
Since the four components fit together, precise dimensions are also crucial. The molds are made in China, which often means it’s not possible to be present at the trial molding. Through close collaboration with our toolmaker, we ensure that the trial molding is carried out with our expertise. This way, we can be confident that the products will ultimately meet the customer's requirements.

The Result
The entire process has been carried out together with QB Darts and various parties. As the final step, we are now responsible for the production of the QB One.
Fleur Plastics is happy to collaborate with you to shape your product, as well as to guide you during the material selection, mold creation, and production of your products.
